Kilim Sofra Carpets : The name Sofra refers to kilims that people in Iran and other oriental countries used to lay on the floor as a tablecloth. (at home or outside) Nowadays they have got a historical and collective value as they are unfortunately rarely woven. The Sofra kilim rugs have got a hard and thick weave, in comparison to other kilims, and their shape is usually square.

Afshar Carpets : In Southeastern Iran, around the town of Kerman, live the people of the Afshar race. Their carpets are considered to be among the best examples of nomadic weaving. The primitive and beautiful designs in geometric shapes, usually in blue and red color are unique. Afshar carpets are also known in the market under the name Sirdjan. The city Sirdjan is a collection point for the Afshar carpets and is located in the southwest of Kerman province.

Kilim: It is a type of textile without a pile, that preceded the carpet with a pile and it is mainly made by nomads. It has often got no back or front surface and it can be used on both sides.

Abrash: Due to the different amount of grease in the wool and the added salt during the process of dyeing, the wool has got a varying colour absorbance. This is not very visible before weaving. During the weaving though, lines of the same colour are formed in the carpet. This is called Abrash (which in Farsi means little cloud) and it shows that the wool was not manufactured using chemical means and marks the naturalness and authenticity of the carpets. Examples
