Baluch Carpets : Baluch nomads are groups of different races who roam between Persia and Western Afghanistan. The Baluch weave wool carpets which are very durable, of high quality, with a dense and tight weave. Their warp is wool, and sometimes they also use goat's wool. In modern carpets they also use cotton warp. Many carpets have decorative Kilims on both ends of their width, which makes the carpets more durable and protects against wear. The thin rails of the carpets are often goat wool. They use dark red, blue, brown and black herbal colors. The designs are geometric and often represent in a variety of forms the tree of life, a symbolic scene used often in prayer carpets. The Baluch carpets that were dealt in the city of Iran, Mashad, are called Mashad-Baluch, while others sold in the city of Herat in Afghanistan, are known as Herat-Baluch.

Turkaman Carpets : The Turkaman carpets are being woven in several regions of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, eastern Turkestan, Afghanistan and Belutschistan. Basjir, Salor, Τekke-Bochara, Jolam-Bocharaband, Ersar, Tjaudor and Yomut carpets, which are characteristic examples of the Bokhara techniques, belong to the category of the Turkaman carpets. Some of the regions in Turkmenistan, where carpets are being woven, are Ashkabad, Bakharden, Gueok-Tepe, Kizyl-Arvat and Merv. Deep red and different tones of red, even purple or brown are their principal colors. Their main carpets designs include repeated octagonal, rhombi, the motifs gul and yomut. Their warp is woolen.

Nomadic carpets: Carpets woven by nomads. Nomads move continuously and do not stay permanently in one geographic region. They manufacture (weave) handmade carpets on collapsible looms. Due to that fact there may be slight variations in weaving and their carpets are sometimes uneven in shape. Also the weaving is made from memory and it depends on each artisans momentary inspiration. As a result, the designs in some carpets are not even on the entire surface.

Abrash: Due to the different amount of grease in the wool and the added salt during the process of dyeing, the wool has got a varying colour absorbance. This is not very visible before weaving. During the weaving though, lines of the same colour are formed in the carpet. This is called Abrash (which in Farsi means little cloud) and it shows that the wool was not manufactured using chemical means and marks the naturalness and authenticity of the carpets. Examples
