Ornak Carpets

With the name Ornak we mean small carpets that the Nomads use as a sample and as a pattern in order to weave bigger carpets. Every ornak carpet is usually one quarter of the motif of a bigger carpet. When the Nomads weave a carpet by using an Ornak as a pattern they add or leave out some motifs, they may use the same or other colors, so that in the end they create their own creation.
