Qashqai Carpets : Qashqai carpets are woven by nomads who live in the mountainous areas of Southwest Persia, the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan, south of Isfahan and around the city Shiraz. Their carpets have a high knot density and a wide variety of designs, usually in deep red and blue colors. They weave carpets, Kilims and decorative textiles (ribbons, bags, etc.), which depict scenes from their lives with various representation of humans, animals, birds, trees and flowers. They also depict historical monuments, mostly from Persepolis.
Yalameh Carpets : The name stands for the carpets woven by the Nomads Yalameh, who live in the province Fars in southern Persia. Their colors are usually red, dark blue, brown and orange. They use very soft wool. Their motifs are very characteristic with big, repeated medallion in geometric designs and figures of animals or human all over the carpet. The Yalameh carpets look much alike the Shiraz carpets.
Classic Carpets: Carpets that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by carpet designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these carpets, though there may be slight variations in weaving.
