Beshir is small town in Western Turkmenistan. The carpets woven here belong to the group of Bokhara. Carpets that are woven along the Amu Darya River in Northern Afghanistan are also called Beshir. Most of the carpets are woven by the Ersari Turkomen nomads. The Beshir carpet designs are from Herati motifs with geometric patterns and boteh. Related carpets are Ersari and Salor, but have different aesthetic from neighbouring Turkmenistan's carpets.
