Shirvan Carpets : The Shirvan rugs are being woven in Azerbaijan and are famous as the best Caucasian carpets. They have a thin and dense weaving with many small medallions near to each other with geometric motifs in the center of the carpet. Stars, rhombi and small animals figures are some of the characteristic motifs of the Shirvan rugs. Main color of the rugs is either red or blue, whereas the biggest bordure is usually white, in the natural color of the wool.
Classic Carpets: Carpets that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by carpet designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these carpets, though there may be slight variations in weaving.
All CarpetU2 carpets are subject to cleaning with high quality antibacterial and moth protection products according to Persian law.
Horizontal or vertical shading in the carpet pile: The shading is due to folding the carpet during transportation. When the carpet is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples
Flat woven at one or both ends of the carpet's width: In some carpets the nomads weave at fringes on a narrow Kilim one or both sides of the width, or they weave them artistically into small braids. It is a technique various weavers use for a greater durability or simply to demonstrate their skill. Examples
